Located about 15 km from Munnar, this is not a huge reserve but is precious for its precious collection of Nilgiri tahr, an endangered species. The national park is also a stunning sight when the Neelakurunji blooms, an event that occurs once every 12 years.
Situated 60 km from Munnar, this is lesser known than Eravikulam but is known for its dense population of reptiles, the giant grizzly squirrel and white bison. It is also known for its rich collection of medicinal plants and sandalwood forests.
