One of the former princely states, Jamnagar is still known for its palaces. The Darbargadh Palace and Pratap Vilas Palace show a fusion of European and Rajput architecture; Lakhota fort and Kotha bastion are worth a visit for their museums and displays. Jamnagar is also a birdwatchers’ paradise.
Diu island was once part of a Portuguese colony, and now part of the Union Territory of Daman and Diu. It is known for its beautiful baroque churches and Portuguese architecture. Nagoa beach and lighthouse are popular attractions. You can try water sports, like parasailing, boat rides and jet skis.

Dwarka is said to be the ancient kingdom of Krishna, though his capital is submerged under the sea. It is one of the holiest sites in India, and the Dwarkadhish temple is a must visit. Take a boat ride to the island of Bet Dwarka, and visit the temple to Rukmini. Also visit the Nageshwar Temple.
Somnath is associated with many events of Krishna’s life, and the temple here is one of the most important among Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlings. The highlight is the sound and light show held every evening, and the Prabhas Patan Museum, housing relics from all the ancient temples which once stood here.
The Girnar Hills of Junagadh are considered older than the Himlayas, and just as sacred, to both, Hindus as well as Jains. Atop this hill, a climb of 9999 steps, is the Dattatreya temple, one of the holiest of Hindu pilgrimage sites. On the way is a temple to Ambaji, and many other Jain shrines.
The typical Gujarati Thali consists of Roti, Dal or Kadhi, Rice, and Shaak/Sabzi (a dish made up of several different combinations of vegetables and spices, which may be either spicy or sweet).

Navaratri is celebrated with great pomp all over Gujarat. The celebrations can be experienced in the village of Gir too, with the local temple being decked up for the purpose, and garbha being conducted every evening. The Ambaji temple at Girnar also has special prayers conducted.
Hobby kits are available in the Activity centre for those wanting to use their creative side. Besides, magic tricks are taught regularly, and magic shows are held too. Games and folk music / dance programmes are regularly conducted in the evenings.
Go for a nature walk, accompanied by a guide, who can take you to the buffer zone of the sanctuary, where you can walk around, watching the thriving birdlife. The resort also makes arrangements to visit farms around the property so you can get an idea of rural life in Gir.
